On the last day of January, Mother Nature delivered a fabulous day and neighbors from North River Hills and beyond were treated to a wonderful event at North River Hills Park. The City of Burnsville sponsored a mid-winter gathering called "PolarFest". The temperatures were perfect. The sun was shining. It was bright and crisp and nary a shiver to be experienced. The ice rinks were busy with children skating and playing pickup peewee hockey games. There was ice bowling and family sledding, food trucks and horse-drawn wagon rides, firetrucks with firemen and police cars with the most friendly police officers. There was a small bonfire and very busy s'mores station nearby hosted by dedicated NRHNO volunteers. We met new friends and even sold a number of NRHNO sweatshirts. And in the heart of it all were dozens of happy young faces dancing their steps to the heart-warming beats of a superfun DJ! Hundreds of neighbors attended and there smiles everywhere!
Thank you to the NRHNO volunteers who helped set up and make the s'mores station a big hit. And thanks to the City of Burnsville for sponsoring and organizing this fun event.
